Catholic Central is D1 CHAMPS!
The Detroit Catholic Central Shamrocks completed a perfect 2009 season by winning their 10th MHSAA Football Championship. The Shamrocks defeated Sterling Heights Stevenson 31-21 at Ford Field. Catholic Central built up a 21-3 lead by halftime. Stevenson started the 2nd half by scoring 11 unanswered points to close the gap to 21-14. The Shamrocks answered right back in the 4th quarter with a 9 yard touchdown run by Anthony Capatina and a Justin D'Agostino 33 yard field goal to build their lead to 31-14.
